While going through my dvd collection there are some dvds i want to 'flag' so i can check into them further later.  But it seems that flagging a dvd is not permanent.  The flags seem to clear out when you close dvdProfiler.

Is there something I have missed?  If not how can i "flag" dvd(s) and keep that flag active.

Thanks
Dsig

You can't make the flags permanent as you describe. But what you can do is flag all the profiles you want for whatever reason... and then click Collection-->Flags-->Save Set. And name the set and save it. Then when you want to check into them again... just go to Collection-->Flags-->Load Set.

Or use Tags.  They stick around after the program closes.
Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
Create fake parent profiles to organize your collection.

Unless you save them, they aren't.

I usually use Tags for stuff that should be permanent.

Thanks all for that.  Tags seem like way too much work.  Too many clicks etc.

Save/Load Set isn't far behind but guess i will use that.  Seems a little quicker.

Thanks again

You don't have to tag each profile one by one. Just add the tag you want in 'Tools->Edit tags...'. Then flag all profiles you want to tag. In the end go 'Collection->Flagged->Set Tags...' and set tags for all flagged profiles at once. So it's just a few more clicks than what you tried in the beginning.

If I don't want to use a tag, usually because I only want to create a set to be saved short term, I sometime create a dummy borrower and just "lend" the titles. "Return" them and delete the user when I've finshed with it.
Cheers,

I created a Tag called "Temp" for this very purpose.

I then flag the profiles I want to make a 'note' of for whatever purpose (often using multiple filters then flaging all filtered) and, as StaNDarD says, Collection->Flagged->Set Tags... and then select my Temp tag.

That way I can do what I want for each of the profiles (deleting the Temp flag as I go among) and if I need to close down I can simply filter on the Temp flag when I re-open.
