| | Posted: | | | | The BFI isn't a government group, it's a charity by royal commission which owns the world's largest film archive, owns a cinema and an IMAX, prints a magazine called Sight and Sound and of course is a renowned distributor. All profits made by the BFI is put into the preservation of film, and access of film. They are also now responsible for all lottery funding that would have previously gone to the UK Film Council. Even the late director Anthony Minghella was the boss of the BFI for a few years. The BFI is something that makes me extremely proud to be British.  |

Where as over here it's a slang name given to the female genitalia Maybe my grandparents called it a fanny, but, man, I haven't heard that term in forever. I always thought it was a UK term for it. I haven't heard anyone call their butt a "fanny" since I was a kid. Possibly my grandmother was the only person I've ever heard use the term. If it's still used as a slang term in the USA it must be exceedingly rare. My Godparents did have an afghan dog named Fanny...but as far as I know they didn't name it after their buttocks. | | | | Corey |
