Damn. She was only 63, same age as my mother would have been, had she also not passed away in cancer 5 years ago. Her name was also Elisabeth.

Yep sad loss! I think many of us adolescent young boys would admit to having a bit of a crush on her back in her role as Dr. Who's assistant in the 70's TV series...I sure did! R.I.P. my dear...

BBC 4 are going to repeat Doctor Who: Hand of Fear, Elisabeth's original series leaving story, on 9th-10th May, 7:40-8:30pm.

I dare say a lot of fans will already have this on DVD (especially since it was sent out as a 'sorry' present with the fixed copy of The Invisible Enemy!) and BBC 4 is a bit 'buried' but the fact the BBC are repeating any classic Who on TV goes to show they have some realisation of how much she's missed...

I just hope the children who enjoy the Sarah Jane Adventures find out about it and tune in to see it...
