Suddenly had to think of this....Ordered this album in the sixties from the UK (not as easy as nowadays).

Granted, but what do John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and Alex Harvey & His Soul Band have to do with Justin Bieber getting whacked in the head?

Still, if you think of this wimp and compare him with Alex Harvey (a Glaswegian after all), it's not that difficult. (Insert emoticon now).

Alex Harvey was nearly 30 when Got My Mojo Working came out. That's a difficult comparison with a 16-year old pop star.

Hitting someone in the head with a thrown water bottle is assault where I come from. Justin Bieber's "music" is not something I would listen to, however, he doesn't deserve to be hit in the head with a water bottle and called a wimp because he's not as talented as Alex Harvey.

Insert    here.

Here if you walked into a police station after some random throws a water bottle at you and ask they be charged you be told nicely to go away and stop wasting time. Police have better things to do than that. If it was like a neighbour they would do something though.

But technically assault here is if someone head butts your face and kicks you in the ribs a few times.

Yep, he seems to be confused.
But the thrower was great. Such a good hit from this distance is not very easy.

A video from his training?:

I don't like his music or his personality particularly. I guess I can see why he would appeal to teenage girls, though.

On the other hand, what I really don't get is why some people who despise his music or his personality obsess so much over him, to the point they even go to his concert to throw a bottle of water at him or massively vote on his website so he would have a concert in a dangerous country. If they don't like him, they can just ignore him. Instead, they obsess even more over him than his own fans do and in doing so, make him even more widely known and probably boost his popularity among potential fans.

Case in point: I had never heard of him or his music. I was unaware of his existence ... until I read in the newspapers that people were constantly harassing him online. So in doing so, I think the 'haters' get the opposite effect of what they desire.

I agree it's unlikely the police would act in such circumstances (as you mention) but FWIW technically assault here (UK) is threatening someone enough that they believe they are in danger of being attacked ie. the threat of violence; if you actually then hit them that's the 'battery' part of "assault and battery"... though I dare say in real life not many people would actually be prosecuted just for the assault unless there were unusual circumstances (multiple assailants, weapons, obvious intent to do harm or maybe a child victim as a guess)
