I'm very pleased with DVD Profiler. But is it possible to search for movies (DVD's) by selecting the location? I don't know to do. Please help.

The closest thing to doing that which I can think of is to first include the Location as a displayed column in your profile list, then sort by that.

To add the Location column to the list, right-click the headers at the top of the list, then choose 'View Columns' then ensure 'Disc Location' is checked.

Then click on that new header to sort by it.

Thanks for the help. Is it possible to make a report where your can select only one location.
I have many locations for my DVD's and have given each location a name.
I would like a list of DVD's for each location so only DVD's for the selected location will be listed on the report.

If you successfully sort by location as MtnMike describes you can then use 'Flags' to select all the DVDs in one location:

To flag all in the first location select the first DVD for the second location and then Collection -> Flags -> Flag All above Current
To flag all in the second location do the same as above then (flag all the ones in the first), then select last DVD in the second location and Collection -> Flags -> Flag All below Current and then Collection -> Flags ->Invert Flags.
You get the idea!

then, for any report, select the 'Flagged Entries Only' radio button in the 'Options' section and the Report will only be run on the flagged items, ie. all the ones in the location you've specified

Sorry to bump up this old post, but I am wondering how to the same thing. What Voltaire53 suggested seems to be a good walkaround, but could we make it much simpler by just adding the filtering by disc location to the software?

You could suggest it in the Feature Request Forum.

Also, try downloading the Database Query plug-in, I think it may be able to do what you want already; it certainly adds massively to the Filtering capabilities of DVDP.

Yep, it does. It's under the Personal Information section (Query Field: Location & Slot)
