In the new Star Trek move Majel Barrett is credited as Starfleet Computer and Greg Grunberg is credited as Stepdad, these two actors do not have an on screen appearance but only the voice the Stepdad in on the cell phone talking to young Kirk in the car. The problem is the end credits do not say Voice of only Starfleet Computer and Stepdad should the Voice only checkbox still be checked?

Yes... of course. The rules for using the check box is...

Quote:
For animated films or voice-only roles, use the "Voice" checkbox.

So as long as they are voice only roles you use the checkbox... no matter what the role says.

Definitely; this is actually the situation it gives the most useful information. eg. if the role is 'Voice of the computer' then you don't really need the extra info the tick box provides (though of course it should be ticked!).
If the role is just 'Computer' then the tick box actually lets you know the actor isn't actually a walking computer in the film...

Having just recently re-watched this movie, I can confirm both roles should be entered using the 'voice only' flag.

The "Voice of" in the credits just makes it easy to confirm but isn't the last word.  Otherwise we wouldn't be able to add the check box for animated films.
Bad movie?  You're soaking in it!

To summarise, the 'voice' option is used wherever an actor appears in a film or show and is not present on camera. Whether he/she is credited, or not, as a voice actor is unimportant.
