Just want to clear this up since I've always been a little unsure.

When actors and directors are not directly interviewed, but rather talking about the movie, certain scenes, other actors or crew or behind the scenes stuff with footage from the movie production in between.

Is this a 'Featurettes' or 'Interviews'?
Since were not hearing any questions asked I would say featurette, but then again. They are talking to an interviewer of sorts.
I've gone with featurettes since thats what other profiles which have something similar.
If this is correct, I dont think I've ever seen an interview feature. So what would qualify to use the interview option?

A silly question I guess but.. its to stop me from making an incorrect feature in the future.
Thanks.

Featurette.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

The rules are pretty clear I think.

Quote:
Interviews, generally with cast and/or crew members available through a separate menu option, and not incorporated into the main feature or a documentary.

Well its located in the special features option so it is a separate menu.
But just wanted to make sure.

My interpretation is that an "Interview" is just that and nothing more: a direct talk, with one person.  Making-of footage, multiple people being interviewed, other stuff, makes it a featurette.  But it certainly could use some clarifying.

Pretty much agree on all points; I confess if I'm unsure I tend to use 'Interview' when the cover says it's an interview in the same way if it says 2.35: 1 on the cover and it's "too close to call" that it's different (eg it may actually be 2.37:1) we use the cover as a guide...
