Is there an easy way to separate my porn from my '18' titles?

Hi everyone,

I've recently registered my DVD profiler and I want to put my collection online for my mates to see. What I want to do is to show all my DVDs online apart from my porn. I've been playing with the adult settings online and on the application itself but it seems that when I choose to hide the adult titles, it hides the '18' rated titles as well (Region 2 UK discs). Is there a way to get around this problem?

Many Thanks

The only way I can think of, although I might be wrong, would be to have two local DB's...one for your main stock of DVD's which you can upload to the online, and a second local just for your porn which obviously you don't place online.

DVDP has the ability to be able to run more than one DB, you just load which ever one you want to work on at the time.

Basically what Snarbo says because Adult for some reason (too complicated to go into) recognises 18 titles as well as actual Adult titles (as you have found).

Hopefully this issue will be resolved in a future update to Profiler but until then the only way is to have a separate list for your Porn and only upload your 'regular' list.

Hopefully they'll fix this but it looks like 2 dbs is the only option. I'll have another play around. Thanks for your replies.

I don't have region 2  access for seeing or recognizing this problem, but what about changing the '18' titles to 'R', or... No rating at all .    Looking over your titles ,, I see the rating system for the UK  is  U / 12/ 15/ R /  NR / catagory IIa / PG13 /PG / .

what is catagoryIIa        ???  ( Heart of Dragon )  ...

Isn't Category IIa an Asian rating? I seem to remember having seen it on some of my Jackie Chan & Jet Li imports. Certainly is not a UK rating...

The UK rating system for buying DVDs is -

Uc/U/PG/12/15/18/R18

U & Uc are effectively the same but Uc is "Especially for young children". R18 is restricted 18 for licensed sex shops.

There are a number of region 3 Hong Kong discs in my collection too. That's where the CategoryIIa rating is from.

You are quite right of course, but just to add the UK does allow for some exemptions from requiring a certification (educational/sport/music titles usually) and these are usually marked with an E to show this (though it isn't an official category). These come under NR in the DVDP scheme and are usually suitable for most viewers (if rated they would rarely be above a PG) so have a very different connitation here than Unclassified does in the US!
