Hi there,

I'd like to correct a false PG-13 rating to a FSK-12 rating in the DVD "Die Zeitmaschine". I don't know how a US-rating came inside that German language version but now I have the problem that there are only US ratings in the drop down list. I already had a look at the region code and it says Region 2 (which is correct). I also tried to change the currency from Dollars to Euro but that didn't change the options I get in the drop down menu. How can I correct the rating then?

Thanks for any help!
Steve

You have to change the locality (DVD Menu/Change Locality) - then the FSK settings are available!

That's the answer you want; just remember you need to check all the other info is correct (as per currency which you mention) for the new Locality, such as matching overview language etc.

it seems the DVD was added using the disc ID instead of the UPC/EAN. Above the disc ID stands "USA". Problem is I added the disc in my collection using disc ID as well as I don't have an UPC/EAN for this disc: It came in a "Double Feature"-Metalcase that has it's own UPC/EAN which has not yet been added to the DVD Profiler Database. I'd like to add it making a new boxset and using the already existing DVDs from the DVD Profiler Database.

The main question is: Could it be that this very disc ID has been used for region code 1 and 2? If not then USA is definetely false and I should change the locality throughout the hole DVD profile. If yes well then we have to think again... The overview is - among others - in German by the way. So the whole profile seems to be for the German version rather than the USA version of the DVD.

For kicks, I just down loaded this profile, the only one entered by disc ID,  and region code is 2 Europe, Japan, etc.

Not having the disc myself I can not verify this. but IMHO the region code should be the determining factor.

If a disc have an all region code, 1 thru 6 or a combination of region codes, it is conceivable that the disc could be sold in other countries under different packagings.

If it is US DVD it should be NTSC.
If it is a Europe DVD it should be PAL.

Thanks to all of you for the answers. As it is PAL, Region Code 2, German title, German overview, etc. I'll upload the profile fully localised together with the other changes/additions.

You don't own the original UK release of Sex in the City then

Yes, almost always you're right (of course) but there are a few NTSC discs sold in the UK since practically all UK TVs can play NTSC natively or, if not, DVD players will translate it to PAL50 so it will play.
