| Posted: | | | | I have had an online collection for over 5 years and now they are all gone.
Anyone have any ideas how my online collection suddenly has 0 DVD's in it when it should be showing close to 800 DVD's?
I just noticed this but I haven't uploaded anything for 3-4 months but that should be the problem everything should still be there. | | | http://www.invelos.com/dvdcollection.aspx/profzoom

You can get it back b buying the program, or if you've already paid for the previous version converting your existing registration key. See the help topics pinned at the top of this section of the forum. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | What changed that you have to purchase this?
It has/had been working for months until now. The only thing that is not working is the online collection the offline version 3 is working just fine with all my DVD's and I have not had anything say I need to purchase it as of yet.
I just have a bad taste from when the site was down and all the legal issues were going on that I have held of from purchasing something that may not be around for verylong and what I am actually getting from my cash. I like being able to have a place to store a copy of my collection but then is it worth the money versus a free program that does the same thing? | | | http://www.invelos.com/dvdcollection.aspx/profzoom

| Posted: | | | | What technically changed is that a lot of features are limited to 50 DVDs. I guess it was done because not enough people registered compared to the bandwidth and time they consumed.
If it is worth it or not is up to you. You will not find a free program that can do what DVD Profiler can do, but you might find one that can do enough for what you want. If all you want to do is store a free upload I guess DVD Profiler might not be the cheapest solution, though I would rather pay 30 dollars than wasting time trying to find an alternative. | | | Regards Lars | | | Last edited: by lmoelleb |

| Posted: | | | | See here for what's restricted over 50 dvds now. As to what's changed Ken & Gerri are now the sole owners of Profiler having bought the IVS partners out and Ken is now devoting more time to updating the program, which means it needs to provide a decent revenue for him. | | | IVS Registered: January 2, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | This just happened to me, and I own the program. I last uploaded on Tuesday...went to upload today, and the collection is blank. | | | "I am Andrew Ryan and I am here to ask you a question: Is a man not entitled to the sweat of his own brow?
No, says the man in Washington. It belongs to the poor. No, says the man in the Vatican. It belongs to God. No, says the man in Moscow. It belongs to everyone.
I rejected those answers. Instead, I chose something different. I chose the impossible. I chose… Rapture." |

You are always free to get a refund on the $0 you have paid and put that $0 towards another program... but I don't think the threat of you leaving will mean that the DVDP program writer, owner and support staff will suddenly give you the extra functionality you want just so they can keep your $0. | | | It is dangerous to be right in matters where established men are wrong |
