| Posted: | | | | When I got this new version I was really enthousisastic about the possibility of adding pictures for actors. When I came across a birthdate I added it in the process. Then I re-read the contribution-rules...
Now I don't know which birthdates I added randomly and which are approved. Is there a way to reset all Birthdates in my profiles to match the DVD-profiler database? When I add actors to a certain profile and contribute it, it can be declined for even 1 wrong birthdate.
I know that was such a stupid action, but I hope someone can help me correct it. Many thanks in advance. |

| Posted: | | | | do you have a complete backup from before you added the birth years?
If so you may be able to restore just the actor portion of the db, overwriting what you have. Works with the headshot db but I have no idea if it will work for this. |

| Posted: | | | | all of these extra birth years really don't hurt you locally. When you do a contribution simply do NOT check mark any of the birth years listed at the bottom of the contribution. Then your contribution is uploaded without the birth years and people can vote on them just as if you didn't have them in your system. | | | Premium member since 29 August 2002 ----

| Posted: | | | | As Ron says, you have to specifically tick a box to contribute a birth year, so you can contribute anything you like without worrying as long as you don't tick them! |

| Posted: | | | | Yep, what Ron says... it strips of the Birth Years when you contribute unless either
1) they are already approved and in the central database or 2) you specifically tick the name in the list at the very bottom of the contribution scheme (at which point you must provide justification)

| Posted: | | | | Quoting Ron: Quote: all of these extra birth years really don't hurt you locally. That's true. But they sure are a pain when you're going through updates. It's frustrating to look through cast list after cast list only to find it's a birth year making that section popup. And it seems to me that once you get a birth year in your database, they're hard to get rid of. I've finally gotten to the point of writing down the name, exiting, editing that actor and removing their birth year. | | | Get the CSVExport and Database Query plug-ins here.
