| | Posted: | | | | My main PC finally gave up the ghost last weekend after 5 years of service, so I have been given permission from the Finance Director of Mole Ltd. to build a new one.
One of the (many) questions I must consider is whether to dump XP Pro for Vista Ultimate. Generally, there seems to be a lot of negative feeling towards Vista at the moment, but my question for this forum is limited to "Are there any compatability issues with running DVDP 3.1 under Vista?". I did a quick search round here and there was a flurry of activity in the early part of this year, but it appears to have died down; can I take this to mean that the latest DVDP is now fully compatible with Vista? | | | | Chris |

If it's a business PC take Software Assurance - You can start with XP (since it's more stable) today and upgrade to Vista anytime you want to (if your PC will last five years again, then there will be the moment you wish to have Vista sometimes in future...)... | | Posted: | | | | Based on the comments of SHE who must be obeyed (my wife the IT Director)...not yet. I think she is not planning to upgrade her company network until sometime next year. It still seems to cause her some concern.

It's true that many will not even work correctly, needing upgrades to actually properly run in Vista. The only real problem I've had with Vista is that I had to chuck my old Dymo Labelwriter since there were no Vista drivers for it (and Dymo had no intention of writing any...  ) I would not want to upgrade my work computer to Vista yet, though. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users.

Of course, they released the first service pack for Windows 2000 the day it was released.... |
