I guess I never got around to this issue before as I had others to deal with.  Last night, I had just added the Doctor Who "New Beginnings" box set as a "profile" and then added the three "children" (which each have their own UPC & keep case) as individual profiles: The Keeper of Traken, Logopolis & Castrovalva.

In the previous db ver 2.4 I think you could link the individual children to the parent set and then view them by clicking on the (+) sign next to the parent box listing in your owned list and it would expand out to show the children for viewing.

Well... I entered all of these child profiles and then went into Edit profile for the parent and under Box Set "assigned" the three children to this parent. When I saved the changes and came out they were gone from my profiles list. I can't seem to find them anywhere. I tried various things but to no avail. I couldn't find anything in Help or the Contribution Guidelines that addresses this.

I presume they've been subsumed into the parent somehow but where their data is with the cover images, etc, I can't fathom.

I tried searching on this topic as I remember seeing it talked about in the past but I had no luck.

I feel I've missed something obvious here. Maybe not. But as I'm now going to have to go through my collection to add the missing "children" I should have added before I want to be sure I can find and view them later.

Your patience is appreciated.

Never seen this one before; can you go to the parent Box Set details and still see them there? If you remove them do they re-appear on your list?
Does a database repair help?

Not sure if it's the same, but maybe it helps:

I added a bunch (all...) of my parent profiles last week. Unfortunately only when I was done I noticed, that all child profiles had been detached! As I had seen this before, I restarted DVD Profiler and they were still detached Took me an hour to set things up again. I have actually no idea what triggered this, as I didn't even look at the Box Set Content tab.

Anyway, my point: My child profiles are mostly unnumbered. If that is true for you too, then they will be found at the bottom of the list when sorted by Collection Number (descending).

If you can't even find them when filtering the list, here is another one:
Did you possibly edit the profile while in the ALL tab? Were the child profiles maybe in another tab? If adding Wish List profiles as children to a Owned profile, when viewing the Owned tab, they will not be shown, as they are in fact still in teh Wish List tab. If you swicth to All, the children should reappear, in that case.

I have had simular problem erlier, but it suddenly just fixed itself.

When using the filters the + sign newer came up, I had to mark the profile box, and then clear all fiters, and then it was OK! showing all its children.

Dont know if this is a issue for you, but worth trying?

This was a problem for me until resently, and it could have been a bug from windows fixed in some fiks just now?, I thought the profiler was made this way until now
Try uploding the latest fix from MS if the problem is simular...

My setup is similar to yours.  Awhile back I lost track of the children on just one boxset.  I thought at first I'd deleted them by accident, but when I tried to add one of them again, it said I already had it in my list.  I finally ended up shutting everything down, and did a cold boot.  Everything was there, and everything worked, so I figured it was a corrupted buffer or some such and promptly forgot about it.

Maybe Ken needs to take a look at some things?

Hmmm, I could re-add them without problem. But still, I guess if it happens again I'll try a reboot first, before wasting another 30-40 minutes on that (I had only restarted Profiler).

Oh boy! Found out that as I normally leave my collection listing in "Details mode" with thumbnail and data together showing, one can't see the (+) to expand. You have to switch to "List Mode." Then it becomes visible.

I would think this choice could be added as an entry to a right click menu for Details mode in the future. That would be nice.  At least it's all there now.  This is somewhat similar to switching to List mode before uploading to one's on-line collection, unless this was changed in the recent version upgrade.

Sorry for the fuss.

Yes, that's the version and build I'm using. I just took a closer look now. Lord! How embarassing! It's small but there. To the left of the title I can see  the (+/-).  You've made my day! I've wasted enough people's time.  Have a nice one!
