A mate's recent renewed interest in stop-motion reminded me of this thread. Does anyone have any new suggestions?

I've been watching a few Harryhausen flicks lately. I loved both Earth vs. the Flying Saucers and 20 Million Miles to Earth, and am very excited about watching It Came From Beneath the Sea when the Blu-ray of it arrives (just shipped). Since it was done at Columbia Studios (like the other two), I have high hopes. I've also watched The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms, which I didn't enjoy nearly as much as I'd hoped I would. Technically it was just as good I suppose, but it didn't entrance me.

Looking around on Amazon UK for a title he is after, I found the following stop-motion:
The Fool Of The World And The Flying Ship £6.99
Wind In The Willows - The Complete Collection £21.99
The Wombles - Limited Edition Complete Collection £12.93

Also some on Amazon:
The Exquisite Short Films of Kihachiro Kawamoto (1968-1979) $27.49
The Book of the Dead (Kihachiro Kawamoto) $26.99
A Town Called Panic $20.49

...and finally, a sketch from The Micallef Programme

Early stop-motion, along with some other camera tricks (e.g. Jump cuts).

What, no love for the "7th Voyage of Sinbad" rip-off "Jack the Giant Killer"? Sure the stop motion leaves a lot to be desired but it's still stop-motion from the glory age

Can't really believe that these two haven't been mentioned yet:

EDIT: OOOps, sorry Kulju, just saw that you recommended "Fantastic Mr. Fox" already.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Anything by Aardman for a modern(ish) take on stop-motion which always raises a smile... Shaun the Sheep isn't just for kids you know
