While I understand and agree with your revulsion at his avatar and username, I also believe he has the right to use them if he so chooses.
There is no "right not to be offended" guaranteed by this forum or our constitution or any other constitution that I know of.
There are other avatars and usernames that I find offensive (a troll giving you the finger, forget the user), but "c'est la vie" as they say! | | | | Hal |

Were this my site such clearly anti-social behavior would not be permitted. There are several other avatars that annoy me, and I have commented on them at certain times, but this crosses the line...big time. I know this much for certain, I am not interested in the opinion or any other comment made by such a user.

This is the Technical Support forum and is not the place for a discussion on the merits or otherwise of Che Guevara.

Such a user?? Umm, OK... here we go...even this place isn't immune.
This "community" is made up of many people of varied backgrounds and beliefs coming together for some common goals. If you can't participate in a community like this, and accept people for who they are without initiating personal critism about something as simple as a one inch image in an avatar, try making your personal statement by blocking the offensive member and moving on. That or stop participating on the thread and step away from the keyboard for a while and just chill.
Notice how the thread is now about your opinion? Maybe we don't care to read about that! ...a topic we didn't click on in the first place. You can always build a soapbox for your disgust and outrage in the General Discussion wing, where those who want to read it can do so by choice. |
