I'd be a lot more inclined to consider his recommendation if he wasnt affiliated with the company.

I am just wondering how you know that is him.
Did I miss something?
Was his name mentioned somewhere?

EDIT: Guess I should learn to read further BEFORE asking questions.

Just saw this from that blog you posted:

Another new Quidco member support staff starts
October 16th, 2007
A quick note to say welcome to Richard who has been training with us and working part-time in the last few weeks and is now working full-time with Quidco as of yesterday. Richard will be working on our member support, starting with processing member enquiries and then moving up to tickets. This latest addition brings our Quidco member support team to six members of staff!

Welcome here Richard

Hello everyone

Thank you for the warm welcomes - It makes me very happy.

I look forward to helping all of you via the proper channels.

Richard

Like I said in my earlier post ... there is a thin line between spam and information ... guess this actually crossed that line.

That would be an awful big coinsidence ... very unlikely

Thanks for investigation. I think now we have a decision guidance how to answer a possible rules violation...

It seems to be company policy.
From their main page:

Lookout for our newest crew member, XXXXX! She'll be around helping people out with Quidco related stuff in the wilds of the web, foraying into forums and giving guidance and updates in discussions about Quidco.

Name edited by me.

We have moderators? I would think that to be a Ken or Gerri decision. I think it's nuts to attempt to guess Jubbyuk's motives. Jubbyuk is the only one that knows. It's up to Ken or Gerri to decide what they will tolerate and what they won't. To jump to conclusions, make accusations, and investigate(for no reason other than to assume)  constitutes a red arrow way more than jubbyuk's original post. IMO.

EDIT: I have given no one a red arrow. I gave one green arrow to reybr on this topic.

I was only referring to the proper use of the reputation system - not more or less...

Sorry Opus IMO, if you work for the company and send info regarding ways to make the company money (eg earn money why you buy) it IS spam.  The spammer waited as long as he did only because he wasn't working for the company yet.

Then we'll have to agree to disagree. I feel it's Ken and Gerri's decision. Being that the topic is still up I get a feeling it's not that big of a deal. Also, the original poster doesn't make a dime, i.e. no way to track where a customer may come from, AND no one has a gun to their head to purchase anything. If you think it's a good deal, great. If not, you don't join.

Opus, being that they work for the company even if they are not on commission, they still receive compensation as an employee.  As you said we will have to agree to disagree.  However, if you work for a company (receive compensation) and you tell a group of strangers about your company in order to get them to try it out, your company, which can only stay in business by having customers (ie keep you compensated) it is spam...

I think it's a bit early to draw this conclusion.  It's only been up since this morning so it's possible neither Ken nor Gerri has read this thread yet.  After all, it's a holiday weekend (George Washington's Birthday, officially) here in the US and maybe they are taking a few hours off.  And unless the system goes down, who'd blame them?

Same here; passing on info on how to save money is abit like saying "the cheapest online store for 'a Title' is Amazon/DeepDiscout/Play" etc and we don't say those are spam... infact they're usually encouraged.
