Just like some of the other threads here, I'm curious of the best bargin you have ever got.

To start it off, mine is

'The X-file Complete Collector's Editon Box Set' RRP £199.99, I got it for £59.99!
Is it me? Or is Wilma Flintstone the most desirable women in the world?

Certainly not the best dvd I own, Home and Away Romances is the cheapest I have ever bought for $2.75 AUD from the ezydvd store near my house. They obviously couldn't give it away!

Hmmm... I believe the best bargain for a single disc would be The Shawshank Redemption for 25 DKK (5.18 USD). I believe I saw it last at my DVD-pusher at 10 DKK (2.07 USD).

Best price on a box would be the Danish television series from around 1980, Matador. It is 12 discs (two episodes each), and the discs were 200 DKK (41.47 USD) each - even when they were still full-priced, my DVD-pusher made their own cardboard box, stuffed the 12 discs in it (in individual keepcases), and sold it for 1000 DKK (207.36 USD)...
The future is here. It's just not widely distributed yet. (William Gibson)

Not as much of a bargain looking at prices now (but still good!), getting:

Battlestar Galactica: Season 2 on the release date for £13.59 (RRP: £49.99) - 72% off - because of an honoured mis-price was nice. The release of the original TV movie came on the same day and there was a lot of confusion when the details were sent to online stores.

I think the best reduction %age wise I've got must be the movies:

Stealing Candy which was reduced from and RRP of £19.99 down to 99p and
Betrayal down from RRP £15.99 to 79p (both 95% off)

... but I suspect that means they're not regarded as great movies

Probably best bargain that people have heard of was a recent purchase of:

Hart to Hart: First Season down from RRP £34.99 to £4.89 (86% off)

I was buying some DVD's from HMV and they forgot to charge me for one, and it wasn't until I got home and looked at the receipt that I realised that I'd got a 'free gift' ! It was the Simpson's Season 6 Boxset too, which was retailing at £29.99 at the time... now that is one hell of a discount!

My best value for money buy (rather than freebie  ) is probably The Silence of the Lambs The Criterion Collection. I paid £7.23 including international postage for it new!

Another good buy was Amando de Ossorio's Blind Dead Collection 5 Disc Boxset which I paid only £14.89 for brand new, including postage.

Alternatively the worst value for money purchase I have ever made was the Blade Runner Five Disc Ultimate Ltd Edition tin with film cell.... now before you crucify me for blasphemy I must explain that I pre-ordered this a full 6 months before it's release date from Amazon, and was waiting like a rabid dog at the mail box for it's arrival. When it did come, imagine my disappointment when I opened my package to find not a gleaming Blade Runner tin, but instead High School Musical 2!!!!????  - and an invoice for Blade Runner.
Aside from wanting jump up and down on the fore mentioned DVD, I was beside myself. What made things worse was that on contacting Amazon, they told me that it was out of stock so they issued me a refund. This meant a quick purchase from Play.com, meaning that not only did I get my Blade Runner a week later than it was released, Play were also charging £5 more as the pre-order price had come and gone! Aside from this 'minor' hiccup  I have had no other major problems with internet ordering!

Best deal I ever got was Roger Ramjet The Deluxe full series brand new for $4.99. There was a small book store going out of business and they had a few DVD's the owner had ordered to try and bring in more sales. It worked for him, just a little too late.

Well that and "Down Among The Z Men" for 25 cents at the local used video store.

First season of "PSI Factor" (RC2 German) at release date for 5,99€ instead of 49,99€.

It was mispriced at buch.de for only one or two days in the preorder-time in november. Normally they just cancel such orders of mispriced articels, but since I payed already after ordering they didn't.
