| Posted: | | | | Well, sometimes it's a little bit confusing. What's up if there is only one more person to myself owning the DVD I am contributing? Or at least only one person says yes or no?
I have to ask this in cases where the decision of this one person is definitely wrong and I can't do anything against if this one says "no" to my contribution!
There is actually one case! The profile in the database has the front cover twice - without rating! But as the movie has a so called "Wendecover" (outside/visible with rating, if you turn around it's without), the side WITH rating would be correct! I just read the comment for the "No", that the "front cover without rating is correct", but it isn't! If you would buy the sealed DVD, it's always with rating, only if you take out the inlay and turn it around it's without.
Same thing - I mention this a while ago - is the media company! Well, most of the people who care about the data imo mostly care about cast & crew. I am very much on studios these days, too, especially if there are countless DVDs from the "Pidax"- or "Filmjuwelen"-Series. Imo it's confusing to have e. g. 20 discs of one of these series but then 3 or more different spellings of their media companies. I'd appreciated maybe a discussion but then a solution to solve this forever!
In the past we had this stuff with "twentieth century fox" and "20th century fox". As I don't know if it is technically possible: Wouldn't it be an idea to discuss the correct spelling for some studios/media companies and then correct all of them (with any tool?) here on the server with one click? I love clean data, and you know that it is always work to change ALIVE & AL!VE to "AL!VE AG" ;-) And that's not the only one popping up differently with nearly every profile...... |

| Posted: | | | | You can edit the contribution notes and justify why the contribution is correct. In the German region this works quite well.
But concerning the cover: Both, with and without rating are correct. If there is no huge difference in quality, the cover without the disturbing logo is definitly prefered. | | | Complete list of Common Names • A good point for starting with Headshots (and v11.1) |

So to speak....the removed rating is ok, if the cover is different in other aspects (like additional text missing or a completely other image etc.) then the "original" front should be used. |

| Posted: | | | | Yes, the contribution rules allow it and some releases have used stickers on the wrapping or removable stickers as it seems most do not like the huge ratings logo on the front cover as mandated by some countries. Personally, I prefer a scan without the logo on the front cover if there is an option. Here's the excerpt from the contribution rules: Quote: The inner sleeve may be used in lieu of the front cover as long as the only difference is the exclusion of sticker(s) or rating overlays. |

| Posted: | | | | Well, in this case front and back cover of the existing profile are the front w/o rating. If there is a complete looking profile and only the scans are missing, I keep a DVD sealed as long as possible until I watch it, and scanning the outside always has the logo according to law, only turning around the "Wendecover" shows the version w/o logo.
Don't know if there should be rules.... like we have for "cover of first release" and the later ones aren't allowed so far (if they are modified in any way). |

Re-reading your OP, either is correct, but it really comes down to personal preference. Since you mentioned the profile has the front cover w/o logo twice, I'm assuming it uses the front cover for both the front and back images which means this was likely a placeholder image when this was originally submitted (likely a preorder at the time). Were you attempting to submit scans of the front and back cover? What title are you referring to anyway? |

| Posted: | | | | @rdodolak: You are right in all cases! The profile so far has the front w/o rating as front and back (possibly a place holder) and I contributed scans of front (with rating) and back
