| Posted: | | | | ... that people who copy cast/crew from other profiles at least do so with some intelligence? Yeah, some of you may have heard me rant aginst copying cast and crew before. I don't like it. Especially when it's done without any thought. Case in point: The UK blu-ray of Disney/Pixars "Coco" has cast/crew copied from the UK 3D blu-ray. That one in turn has its data copied from a Dutch profile. What irritates me is that both these UK profiles have additional cast groups for the Flemish and Dutch voice dubbing artists. Those are not in the credits, and there are no Flemish or Dutch audio tracks on the UK releases. DUH!! | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users. Gunnar |

| Posted: | | | | I've fiound it happening far too often when people are using a Blu-ray as a base Profile for a DVD release and copying ALL the information across including the Blu-ray Disc ID and Audio Tracks.
We really are long overdue an update to the Contribution Rules. |

We really are long overdue an update to the Contribution Rules. I last heard they were working on an update to the contribution rules 2.5 years ago, but nothing materialized from that to my knowledge. |

| Posted: | | | | Yes, this sort of thing is kind of annoying.
I've just this minute contributed a profile update that includes correcting four typos in the crew. In at least three cases, the Credit Lookup Tool indicates that the misspellings are the correct name to use, as the profile appears to have been cloned to other copies of the movie and as the individuals have so few credits in total, this has tipped the balance in favour of the errors. (I did check online to try and make sure the errors are actually errors.) So I've had to ignore the Rules and put a note in the contribution notes as to why. | | | Do you ever find yourself striving for perfection with an almost worthless attempt at it? Guttermouth "Lemon Water". Also, I include in my Profiler database VHS tapes, audio DVDs, audio books (digital, cassette and CD), video games (digital, DVD and CD) and 'enhanced' CDs with video tracks on them, as well as films and TV I've bought digitally. So I'm an anarchist, deal with it. Just be thankful I don't include most of my records and CDs etc in it too; don't think I haven't been tempted... |
