CSI: Miami and Parenthood are both Bob Cooper
My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT.
FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that.
Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it!

Heart of Dixie: Bob Cooper as Special Effects

Also, since I'm just seeing the whole "Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach --> Robert Cooper as Special Effects --> Invalid" thing right now, lemme ask, since when in the hell is a credit of "Special Effects" invalid???

"Individual Credits:
Visual/Digital/Special/Special Visual Effects, including Designer, Supervisor, and Director,
Special Photographic Effects"

Visual Effects. Digital Effects. Special Effects. Special Visual Effects. Including Designer. Supervisor. Director.

Special Effects isn't an invalid credit. Unless someone is REALLY arguing that the only things that should be credited here are people that are credited as "Special" "Visual" "Digital"  . And if that's the case... a year and a half away and nothing has changed around here
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.

I listed it as invalid since everybody agreed to not list the large groups without a specific job description as stated in this topic. Since Special and visual effects are treated the same in the rules I don't see why we should list a group of Special Effects people if we don't list a group of Visual Effects people. Just like the Visual Effects group it's not clear what everybody did. It's likely that the group also contains the technicians who we don't list if they have a specific technician credit.

Later on GreyHulk opened a new topic about Special Effects credits and there a small majority do want to list those credits. So, in comparison with the rules it looks like we want to treat Visual Effects and Special Effects differently. If we agree on that, that's fine to me, but in that case the rules can use an update as well.

I would not list these credits myself, because I tend to name such mass listings stupid. but a straight (other may say stupid) reading of the rules, tells they are valid. Especially for commen name finding, the more credits the better...

In this case, this credit won't change anything (the end result seems to be 10 credits for Bob vs 4 credits for Robert H.) and I leave it in.

Well that ship has sailed. It's been seven years    Ken ain't coming back. He doesn't care. We have what we have now and what we have now says those credits are valid. So I will continue to enter them as such.

We can't just rely on a topic buried somewhere in the forums that was agreed upon by literally a handful of members. I know this place isn't hopping like it used to be (I myself have been away for at least a year and a half while my life ended up being one disaster after another  ) but that doesn't mean that everyone who contributes even visits the forums. As you can see I had absolutely NO idea that anyone anywhere figured that these credits should be invalid    (a call no one other than the guy who owns the site and writes the rules can make).

So thank you very much for pointing me in that direction    I really appreciate it.

As the rules say these are a valid credit, I will continue to enter them as such (and submit them as such to common name threads).
The night is calling. And it whispers to me soflty come and play.

There's no law that says anyone HAS to enter them, but they are not against the rules and can be entered. I know, because I've been doing it for the better part of a decade at this point

I'd also vote against any removal of them as it's valid data *shrugs*

So with THAT in mind they shouldn't be considered invalid when contributing to common name threads.
