| Posted: | | | | How or should these entries be credited in the crew section of a profile? The contribution guide states we can credit "Special Make-up Effects [by]", but the Art Director aspect is throwing me off. The end credits show the following: Quote: Special Makeup Effects by ... Steve Johnson's X.F.X.
X.F.X. Art Director ... Bill Corso The special makeup effects would be a group divider since it's a company name. Does Bill Corso get credited as an Art Director or Makeup Effects? If he doesn't get credited at all, is the group divider included since there wouldn't be a group, per se. |

| Posted: | | | | If I read this credit right, there's no credit for Special Makeup Effects because it only lists the company name (Steve Johnson's X.F.X), not an individual credit. Definitely no credit for Corso. Art Directors under VFX headers are invalid. | | | My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets. It completely screws up/inflates the CLT. FACT: Imdb is WRONG 70% of the time! Misspelled cast, incomplete cast, wrong cast/crew roles. So for those who want DVD Profiler to be "as perfect as Imdb", good luck with that. Stop adding UNIT crew! They're invalid credits. Stop it! |

| Posted: | | | | Agreed, nothing of that qualifies for entry in DVD Profiler. |

| Posted: | | | | Unless there is a makeup artist or other such credit between and/or after what you have listed, nothing you've listed should be credited. If there is such a credit, only then does the group divider apply. The art director shouldn't be listed in the profile at all. | | | If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world. -- Thorin Oakenshield |

Can I ask why an Art Director listed under a VFX Company header is invalid? 1. Not in the rules. 2. Never been allowed (see point 1). 3. We're already stretching the rules with Additional VFX/SFX/DFX Supervisors. They started being allowed because someone put forth the idea that, since the actual credit is SFX/VFX/DFX Supervisor (even though they're under an "Additional VFX etc., by"), they should be valid credits. I don't care one way or the other about point 3, but if valid credits under otherwise invalid headers start being allowed, it will turn into a huge mess in my opinion. | | | My one wish for the DVD Profiler online database: Ban or remove the disc-level profiles of TV season sets.
