| Posted: | | | | I'm on a Mac, running Virtual PC 7.0.1. I've never had an issue running DVD Profiler under Virtual PC in the past. But with version 3.0.x, I can't get rid of the opening "credit" screen once DVD Profiler launches. This is the small window that shows the DVD Profiler name, version number, and the image of the eye with the DVD in it.
The "intro" page (with the summary of your collection info, a "highlight" dvd, and a bunch of options like "Backup Database") appears BEHIND the "credit" screen, and I can close this intro window.
After that, I've been able to minimize the main DVD Profiler screen, which seems to refresh everything and the "credit" screen goes away once I maximize everything again.
But I just upgraded to version 3.0.1, and when I launched it this time, the "credit" screen wouldn't go away at all. And I can't click on the main screen. None of the buttons are active.
What's worse, when I launch Explorer in front of DVD Profiler, the "Credit" screen STILL won't go away. It sits on top of my Explorer screen.
I know, I know...people are going to say "Get a real PC". But that's not an option. All my other software runs beautifully under Virtual PC (a Microsoft product, by the way), and so did version 2.x of DVD Profiler.
Anyone had this glitch happen to them on a REAL PC? |

| Posted: | | | | Huh? I'm running Profiler 3.1 in Virtual PC too, no such problems. Maybe your resolution is too small to see the button? |

| Posted: | | | | Try this: Quoting Gerri Cole: Quote: If you add "nosplash" (without the qoutes) to your DVDPro shortcut after the "C:\.....\dvdpro.exe" then it will just show the screen for a moment. Be sure to leave a space between the final char in the path to DVDPRO.exe and the nosplash.
I tried it out here and it turned it off except for a split second. Hopefully this will help.

| Posted: | | | | Thanks, I'll try the "nosplash" thing.
My screen resolution is fine (1280 x 854) and I run Virtual PC in full screen mode.
Actually - I have more info on what happened: the splash screen comes up, and behind it is the opening window with your feature disc, your collection info, and options to do things like "backup database".
If I click the "Close" button on this window, both this window and the splash screen disappear, and all is well.
But last time, I clicked "Backup Database" in this window. It started the backup process, but the splash screen didn't go away. Ever. I had to force quit the application.
So as long as I don't click any of the options in this opening window, and just close it right away, I'm fine. |
