| Posted: | | | | I have tried to create a "simple" report showing the DVD's that I have and cannot figure it out, can anyone assist me? I am not a technology wizard so any assistance would be greatly appreciated. |

Let's start from scratch: A computer mouse pointing device controls the motion of a pointer in two dimensions in a graphical user interface. | | | Don't confuse while the film is playing with when the film is played. | Posted: | | | | My advice is to download a simple report (menu: downloads, reports) and look how it is build. Then you can tinker with it, moving, removing and adding fields, to see how the report changes. |

| Posted: | | | | Hi golf, Here's how to create what's just about the simplest report possible but with this as an example along with studying other reports should serve as a good beginning.
In Profiler "Menu" "Tools" "Reports..." "New Report" Enter a Name in the "Name" area Don't change anything else. The settings will generate mutiple blocks which will contain data on a Letter sized page of the report. The Left column will be filled first followed by the right. Now for the content of the block: click the "Content" tab A single block of the Report is displayed in the "DVD Item" area Click the "DVD" tab immediately above this area. Click the second icon from the left of those displayed. With the cursor hovering on this icon "Title" will be displayed once it's been clicked. Now moving the cursor into the block a cross will be displayed Clicking there will generate an area wher the title will be displayed when the report is run. The existing text within this area is only for reference and will not be displayed. Clicking "Save & Close" will start the save and close process.

Jim F. Thanks Jim, however, I still am having an issue. Once I click "Save&Close" I get nothing in return. It takes me back to the main page for creating reports. When I click on "Reports" nothing happens and the buttons at the bottom of the screen for print reports is grayed out. The only options that are avail are "New Reports" or "Get More Reports". I also tried to download a simple report as suggested by another viewer but nothing happens when I try to download. I am really confused to say the least!!! |

| Posted: | | | | Hi golf, I'm going thru the steps as I write this. I've just added the "DVD Title" block and just noticed that if I hold the left button down with the cursor on "Hold for preview" it displays the current title; but back to your problem. By clicking "Save & Close" I see THISI'm not seeing an image I created in Preview but maybe after I post if not you can get the link out of the text. Anyway I had a box pop up where I could enter the file name and it was already pointing to the default report folder. I type3d in a bunch of z's for the name and exited the report creation screen and the found the name in the Report dialog. I can't even guess as to why you're having the problem you are but if I think of anything I'll post. Jim F. |
