| Posted: | | | | Working on entering Kino's New Pioneers of African-American Cinema set. It's five discs and all discs contain a mix of shorts, features and special features, which are generally not related to any particular film. Is it box children for each disc with special features on the disc profile, then grandchildren for each movie, regardless of length, or something else? |

| Posted: | | | | AS far as I can tell, the rules only mention shorts in one area...the Overview section. From that section: Quote: If the Main Feature of the disc is a collection of some kind (e.g. shorts, TV episodes, multiple films, etc.) rather than one single feature, a simple list of the collection contents may be added to the standard overview. Example: 1. Title 2. Title 3. Title That seems to imply that we don't create profiles for each short. It would appear that we treat it like a TV Series disc. In this case, I would create a Box Set with 5 child profiles. | | | No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever. There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar |

So create a profile for each disc that covers the shorts and special features with grandchildren for the features? No need for grandchildren. Disc-ids and variants for each disc-id for the features and IMO another variant for each disc-id that contains the shorts and bonuses. Disc Two contains a bonus related to one of the features, that bonus belongs with the feature. Everything as child profiles to the box-set. (I'm sure someone will be along to say this somehow violates the contribution rules, if so, I challenge them to propose a solution that allows all of the content to be properly documented following their interpretation of the rules.) | | | Registered: February 10, 2002 |

| Posted: | | | | After further inspection, the proposal I made would create a variant for a single short (which would violate the rules). Modifying the recommendation to include the shorts and non-specific bonus items in the profile for the first feature on the disc. | | | Registered: February 10, 2002 |
