| | Posted: | | | | After i upgraded frpm Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 i can't watch trailers from YouTube in DVD Profiler.
I got an erreor message saying: External exception 80000003.
I tryed Database repair utility, but that didn't help.....
Someone has any idea what the problem can be ?

| | Posted: | | | | Microsoft has crippled the built-in media support between Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. In the first case, the ability to play DVDs was removed, but for a short time, 8.1 Pro Users could get it for free.
Then in Windows 10, the free player was removed, and now you have to buy a DVD Player from the Windows Store. Depending on how you have set up your "file associations," this might be the reason that your trailers are not working correctly. I know that this is causing similar issues in my plugins that have media playing support (LoadDVD and DVDPca).
I would suggest:
(1) Try changing the file association for mp4, mp3, mkv, wmv, etc. to VLC player and see if trailers work.
(2) If not, you might have to buy the media player from the Windows Store ($14.95). Make sure you don't accept the opportunity to change your login to use Microsoft login - you will get totally messed up (unless you are already using this method).
(You will be forced to use a Microsoft login, such as "Live!" to buy from the store, but you will need to pay attention to the fine print in order to bypass using the Microsoft login to replace your existing local or domain login - and I don't think you can reverse it!)

| | Posted: | | | | I had the same problem when I first went to 10 and here's where it gets sticky. I think, and I use the term loosely, I had to repair the DB, backup the DB, full in both cases, then create a new database and import the backup into it and use it as the default. In any case, this won't hurt DVDP.

If you get even more desperate, after the above suggestions, unintalll DVDP, restart your machine, making sure you are the administrator when you log in and reinstall.
