Hi,
when i try to add a movie that i alredy own by searching the EAN-number the DVD Profiler claims correctly that this movie is alredy in the database.
This happens with movies that i can find with the EAN on the back of the movie cover.
This is correct and good.
But sometimes i can not find the movie under this EAN.
Sometimes on my movie cover is a different EAN. (Rental version from fleamarket or newer version of the same dvd/bluray).
Then i try to find a similar version by the name and add this to my collection and change the local EAN.
But now when i try to add this EAN as a new movie DVDProfiler can not find this EAN at all and don't tell me that i already own this movie.
Should not the DVDProfiler search all safed EAN numbers? Including the ones i changed localy?

( I have up to 2000 movies and developed the habit to stack new and recently watched or borrowed besides my PC and go throu those with a bar code scanner  and then sort them into my shelfs. )

greatings.

First download the similar version and add it to your collection. Then go to DVD / Change UPC/Locality and enter the correct EAN (and Locality, if it needs to be changed to be correct). Then you can save the changed profile. It is now part of your collection.

To be able to find it in the central Invelos database in future, the new profile needs to be contributed. You can do that, provided you comply with the Contribution Rules. Make sure that what you are contributing is correct for the release you have first.
