Convoy BD US release (738329160227)

In the bonus features, it lists "Three Deleted Scenes"

When viewed, they contain

A Description of the scene,
An image of the script,
and then some production stills of three scenes that were not included in the movie.

It is not like most deleted scenes, where you have actual scenes that are played back that were not used.

Would you still classify these as "Deleted Scenes"?

Rules don't state that deleted scenes have to be video. So as long as it's described as such on the disc menu I would enter it as that, deleted scenes.

I on the other hand would not...

The rules state...

Quote:
Deleted Scenes: Deleted Scenes, Alternate Scenes, Alternate endings available through a separate menu option, and not incorporated into the main feature or a documentary.

It says in the rules they must be deleted scenes or alternate scenes or endings. IMHO Some text and still images are not scenes or endings.

I agree with Pete.  An image does not a deleted scene make.
No dictator, no invader can hold an imprisoned population by force of arms forever.
There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom.
Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand.
The Centauri learned this lesson once.
We will teach it to them again.
Though it take a thousand years, we will be free.

I wouldn't add them. An "image" or "description" does not equal a Deleted Scene.

This maybe a case where the actual deleted scenes no longer exist. The only thing that exist of the deleted scenes are the stills.

The back cover lists it as deleted scenes and I can only assume so does the disc menu.

The disc producers call them deleted scenes, so why should we change it?

We correct errors on the cover like wrong aspect ratio, wrong audio tracks and subtitles all the time.

The only thing we type down like braindead zombies (and no, this is not a reference to Ken's avatar ) is the overview...

It's one thing to correct an error, it's another to change the name of a feature.

If these aren't deleted scenes, then what are they?
Photo gallery, nope because it includes a description of the scene and an excerpt from the script.
Featurette, nope because as pointed out these are not videos.

In fact, other than deleted scenes none of the check list is applicable.

If you're going to enter in other features, then how are you going to enter it?
"Deleted scenes duplicated with scene descriptions, script excerpts and production stills".?

Isn't that kind of redundant when one could just check the deleted scenes box?

Your first mistake was coming to the forums.
Yoru second mistake was asking for a definite answer.

You should have gone with your gut and contributed it.

Now that you've given the UPC someone out there will ave added this title to his "wish"list and vote no no matter which way you go because "it's against the rule" (again: no matter which way you go )

Because it's misleading, and propagating misleading information is not useful, and not user friendly.

Given the OP's description, I would consider adding them as Production Notes (covers the first two elements), in combination with Gallery for the stills.

If anywhere... it belongs in other features. There is no actual scene as the rules ask for when it comes to deleted scenes. So marking it as so should be voted down. This isn't the first time I seen features listed on the cover not being what they claimed to be (or not even there at all) and we always went by what was actually on the disc. I see this as no different.

If it was me doing it I would just put "Info on Deleted Scenes" into other features... as that is what is actually on the disc. And this way when someone downloads the profile they would not be looking for/expecting something that is not there.

I still think Other Features would be best... as in this case people would be looking for 2 features that is not actually on the disc.

Why is people so fascinated with just using the check boxes and not wanting to add things to Other Features when it doesn't really fit into any of the check boxes correctly. Makes no sense to me.

Not if they used the wrong name.  A deleted scene is footage that has been removed from the final version of a film or television show.  Three pictures are not deleted scenes.

You've already answered this question in your previous post...they are stills.

Deleted scenes isn't applicable either.

Nope, I would simply enter 'Production Stills & Notes'.

I bring it up because, I contributed the deleted scenes based upon the cover image prior to release.

When I watched the movie, I viewed the special features and saw what they listed as dleted scenes.  At the time I did not think a thing of it

A contribution came through with a number of changes.  One of those changes was removing the deleted scenes.  I do not know if this was a mistake or oversight, but before I voted, I figured that I would ask.
