Ok I was poking around and finally getting back to logging and putting stuff into the 995's after not doing it for a while <puke> and I ran into a few issues where I had DVDs in the player but not in DVDP under Location/Slot

So I attempted to use the Quick Search, the window popped up and looked like it had a drop down for selecting different fields to search.

It seems the only way it works is via collection number.

Is this working right ? Is there a way to add functionality to the quick search ?

Danke

QuickSearch is a BulkEdit menu item. The dropdown should contain:

All4One
Collection Number
Purchase Place
Purchase Price

The All4One blasts thru the text of the profile XML, so you basically can search for a string that appears in any field. Nobody has asked for anything else. I suspect that nobody is using this feature, so if you try it and find bugs, please let me know.

Nobody has asked for any other fields. I think any more complex needs are being met by DB Query anyway, which I was not trying to duplicate. It was just a an idea based on the DVDP quick title search.

I use BulkEdit spreadsheet mode to edit Location and Slot, or you can Load Personal Data if you prepare the Location/Slot data outside of BulkEdit, then load it later.

Thanks for the replay MD,

My thought was to just search slot for say 120 and in my case there should only be ( i hope ) 5 entries ( V1 V2 V3 V4 V5 for my 995's )

Just a quick way to check if I screwed up along the line when adding new titles.

I can't believe I have filled 5 995's

Danke

Are you still using LoadDVD Pro? If so, how are you handling V4 and V5? Are you using the latest Global Cache support?

for 4/5/6 I have a 3 EYE Emitter connected to the GC port going to each 995, with tape over the IR receiver to block the Blaster commands from 1/2/3

So for 4/5/6 it sends the commands for all 3 to the 1 port but only the correct one responds.

I use mostly the Touch Squid App on my tablet, I haven't used LoadDVD much in a while.

They have make great strides with the UI and macros etc

Clever. I was thinking it was something like that. I'm surprised you are still collecting so heavily in DVDs vs. Blu-Ray. I'm guessing that it is partly because a CX995V can deliver a pretty stunning picture from today's DVDs, and also because Sony messed over us by stopping production of the Blu-Ray changer, sending the price for existing units into the stratosphere.

I sold my CX960V and bought a CX7000ES. Man I wish I had either kept the CX960 or bought an additional CX7000ES. I'll rip my Blu-Rays to disk and use a computer (or HDLINKS player) before I spend $5000 on a changer.

Well I have a collage near buy and I have been buying DVD collections cheap. I can get 100 ish DVD for 20-30 Bucks keep what I want, then trade off teh rest and still be ahead $ wise.

As for BR's I am 230 or so, and if I only bought them I would be even more broke than I am currently :/

I have been thinking more and more about ripping to HD, but in loose numbers I was looking at 12-14TB of RAID6 storage on a NAS 4u rack. Now it would clean up my cabinet a ton, that even with my hook ups is not going to be cheap.

If I do it, I'll build it as an appliance.
