filter your collection for the specific actor (or any other filterable item)

In the reports menu, be  sure to select under options As filtered/Sorted in listing

for the selected report, it will only use the filtered items in your list.

There should be a tab or window for Filters.  If not, hit <CTRL-F>.

Select the tab or window.  Hit the left or right arrow in the window, till selected filtering option appears. 

Select cast.  A list with all cast in your DB will appear with check boxes.  Scroll or type in name on bottom.  Select appropriate actor, and you collection list will update. (sort the collection as you want)

At that time, run your report, be sure that As filtered/Sorted in listing.  The report will only list the movies, that are in the filter selection.

There are many items that can be filtered.  It is not complete, but any thing custom you may need can be done with custom tags.  Then you can filter on those custom tags.
