| | Posted: | | | | Lately I've been having a problem when connection the Android App. The app is not able to read the local database, and the desktop edition is using up to 2,2 GB of RAM during operation. Basically it's killing the performance of my computer. I do have 4 GB of RAM, although Windows 7 64-bit edition is only showing 2,75 GB.
The program seems to use a lot more memory as soon as I connect the app. After disconnecting, it won't respond at all, and I have to force-close.
Is there a way to make the program use less memory? | | |  |

Your machine has 4 GByte of RAM installed (+ Video RAM), and a 64-Bit OS doesn't show them as available?
Most likely the problem isn't located within DVDProfiler but in your machine.
Please check:
if the OS really is 64 Bit
if it is: Perform a RAM check to see if your RAM modules are OK
if they are: perform a virus check from a bootable antivirus-cd (recommended: Kaspersky Rescue Disc) | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!

| | Posted: | | | | As you probably know DVD profiler only runs in the first 3.x GB of memory, only 64 bit programs can memory over that. But I don't have any key pads or tablets to worry about.
Use the Task Manager to see who is hogging all the memory and the paging swap assignment.
I have run 7.1 on 4GB, and now Window 8 & 8.1 on 8GB memory, although I have played with paging memory space. Letting Windows assign the space usually works pretty good.
For years my use of the profiler has run about to 423 to 532 mb. on all of these. at this minute 532.4 mb.
When I'm building profiles have the Firefox, DVD profiler, Nuance's Omni Page, Cyberlink Power DVD Ver 13. & word pad running at the same time with no problem. If about a 6 or so profiles the DVD profiler gets a bit sluggish, I run my defrag O&O program in the quick mode. O&O allows you set up zones, programs, picture, images, etc. segregated, even though I usually have about 1 meg of files I have 2T of disk space, so I have plenty of space.. | | | We don't need stinkin' IMDB's errors, we make our own.
