| Posted: | | | | Is there an easy way to merge information from multiple profiles into one new one? What I am trying to do is that we (meaning the Mrs) has The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2 in a single blu-ray set UPC 025192183041
It has some info such as cover scans, etc but cast and crew, overview and a lot of the other details are missing, so the profile looks kinda empty. I'd like to fill all that info it and was wondering if there was an easy way to grab the details from the individual versions of each one and merge them into this set.
Thanks |

| Posted: | | | | Well, I guess what I would do is use the copy/paste function. Highlight the profile that you want to copy the information from. Click on DVD (top menu bars, next to collection), go down to where it says "Copy" and select that. Then, highlight the profile you want to add info to. Go back to DVD, then "paste." When you click "Paste," a box will pop up giving you the choice to select what you want to paste to the profile. You can also chose to copy all over as well. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | For the cast and crew, copy them from an existing profile, then use "add cast/crew and append" to get both into one profile. Sounds like LJG has an even easier way though, didn't know of that one. Both will work for ya. |

| Posted: | | | | Thanks a lot for the tips. I had to add the individual Part 1 and 2 movies into my wish list so I could copy the info out and paste it it. For the second one when I tried to paste it seems to replace and not append so I had to manually go in and add to the overview. (which I found out paste does not work there either)
Anyway thanks again for the tips, that saved a LOT of time. |

| Posted: | | | | My way didn't work for the overview? That's odd-it always has for mine. Could have been worse, though! I do use bigdaddyhorse's way when I am working exclusively on cast/crew. You just have to be careful when you paste to pick the right option. It's easy to click on through and erase the previous cast/crew. | | | Lori |

| Posted: | | | | If you have a similar task in the future you might want to take a look at BulkEdit. It gives you selected data in a grid-view, so you can c&p without switching between the profiles. Doesn't work on all fields, but could work wonders on those it can. A little mock-up: (click for larger view) You could easily transfer the overview from one profile to another and you could add necessary genres. | | | Mithi's little XSLT tinkering - the power of XML --- DVD-Profiler Mini-Wiki | | | Last edited: by Mithi |

I had copied and pasted the info from Part 1 in there and when I went to Part 2, it was going to overwrite the info I had just pasted from Part 1. Maybe I did something wrong??? It worked for 99% of the other stuff so the amount I had to hand type was only a few lines, so not a problem. |

| Posted: | | | | Merging profiles needs to be done this way:
Go to the first profile and open it up to Edit > Click on Cast or Crew > Right Click > Copy All Cast or Crew > Close profile.
Go to the next profile and open it up to Edit > Click on Cast or Crew > Right Click > Past and Append Cast or Crew > Close profile.
You MUST hit Paste and Append. If you ONLY hit Paste (without the "and Append") you overwrite the data. | | | Last edited: by Kathy |

There are separate options to either "paste cast", which erases the existing info already there, or "paste cast and append", which is what you want to use as it keeps the existing cast. Works the same with crew. This is after you use the "copy all cast" (or crew) and left click on the profile you want to add to. |
