| Posted: | | | | I know the rules say to enter the cast exactly as they are in the credits. Does this also mean to list them in the same order as they are in the credits? | | | Just in from somewhere left of the middle of nowhere The Holy See Hell |

| Posted: | | | | In principle: yes, in the order they are listed in the end credits. One exception (from the rules):
"If a film has actors listed in the opening credits, which are not listed in the end credits, add these to the list in DVD Profiler before those taken from the end credits".
In addition: " If a film has no end credits, but does have actors credited elsewhere, enter the actors from those credits. If there are no credits, the film's official site may be used as a source, as long as the inclusion does not violate the site's published policy (if any)."
and
"Uncredited actors may be listed in alphabetical order following all credited actors. Use the "Uncredited" checkbox to indicate these. Uncredited actors are not required entries." | | | Last edited: by dee1959jay |

| Posted: | | | | Also in the rules... Quote: For any film with standard credits, take the actor information from the end credits only, with names and roles listed exactly as they are in the credits and in exactly the same order credited. Exception: If the credit information is entirely capitalized, use standard capitalization rules instead. So yes... other then the exceptions listed by dee1959jay... they must be in the same order as credited. | | | Pete |

There is no greater power in the universe than the need for freedom. Against this power, governments and tyrants and armies cannot stand. The Centauri learned this lesson once. We will teach it to them again. Though it take a thousand years, we will be free. - Citizen G'Kar | | | Last edited: by TheMadMartian |

This is an odd one in my view. I've seen a few titles from the 60s-70s which list the full cast in the opening titles, but list only the bigger parts at the very end. For example, the opening titles might list actors A-Z, while the end credits only list actors A-M. Does this rule mean we contribute actors N-Z first THEN A-M even if A-M are credited first the opening credits? | | | My DVD/Blu-ray Collection My Letterboxd Page | | | Last edited: by Rizor |

It's awkward for films, but works pretty well for television episodes. --------------- |

I didn't invent it - I was merely trying to answer the OP's question. |
