| | Posted: | | | | Having some bad laptop problems. Seems like the battery charger... where it plugs in has a bad short or something and it is not charging my battery. It stops charging every few seconds. Needing the plug messed with.
unfortunately I have no real way to get it anywhere to get it even looked at. Let alone the funds. But I didn't want to just disappear. | | | | Pete |

What happens when you use the laptop when connected to AC ??
I have an old laptop and it works fine when connected to AC but disconnect the wire/charger and run off the battery it last maybe 30 seconds.. if plugged in it never charges .. | | | In the 60's, People took Acid to make the world Weird. | | Posted: | | | | It is now fully charged. Icon shows as it normally does when it is plugged in. the battery with a plug next to it. Mouse over it shows "Fully Charged (100%)" as normal as well.

| | Posted: | | | | Depending on the age of the computer Terry might be correct about the battery. If I were you, I would plug it in and leave it plugged in as often as possible.
You should test the battery. To test the battery, with it charged to 100%, unplug the power cord and see if the battery lasts as long as it used to. If it lasts significantly less time that it did before, it is most likely the battery. | | Posted: | | | | Thanks to a friend here.... I got a new charger today... and all seems to be working well. I plugged in the new charger... and it hasn't gone out a single time since. I even moved the laptop and wire around a bit... and no problems at all.... looks like this fixed my problem!  | | | | Pete |

| | Posted: | | | | if it happens again, one thing you could try is to remove the battery and just run it on AC power without the battery in.
Sometime if the battery is faulty then having the battery actually in the laptop can cause a problem, whereas without it works ok | | | | Paul |
