Dvd Profiler appears to be limited in its search capability. The only thing I found is the ability to search by title. Are there any addons that provide more search capability by actor name, director, etc...?  Thanks.

If you're using the default layout you can find more filters at the bottom of the collection list.

There are three tabs, collection list, filters and set tags, you obviously want the middle one.

Just under the search by title, you have "Other", searching in overview, notes and easter egg. If, for example, you use notes to enter keywords, you can easily search by keywords.

Ctrl&F or View -> Windows -> Filters
Should bring up the windows with all the filters DVD Profiler offers. In the standard layout it should be above under the collection-list as a tab.

How do you do that?

Thanks for the feedback. I was using a "customized" screen. When I changed to the default view I was able to see the filters tab at the bottom. That is exactly what I was looking for and it allows me to do power searches. I switched back to my customized screen and using CTL + F works great too!  Is there a shortcut key that can be used to "clear the filters"?

F12
or Collection -> Clear All Filters
And left beside the title-filter in the menue-bar there is a button to do the same.
(I'm not 100% sure if this is default though)

Just for the record, to be complete: If the Filter window doesn't address your exact needs and neither does a sort in the collection list in a way that might solve that need, there is a plug-in (not by me). Highly recommended.

It is the "Database Query" plugin, by Mark Harrison, mentioned in the Downloads/Plugin section of this website.

The current version is now a bit old (old .NET library...) but still serves very well. If you use more plugins, be aware of an installation problem. See this post for the solution and browse that thread for the possible problem.
