As far as I know you cannot sync directly between two iOS devices. You either need to do it via the PC version, or by uploading your collection to Invelos and downloading it to the other device.

Yes, you can either set your database to sync via the PC version of DVDP or set it to sync via the online database. The PC sync is the best option in my opinion. But if you don't want to or can't use the PC version, the online database is a good alternative, though it isn't really syncing. You upload from one device and download to the other. The PC option offers true sync.
