| Posted: | | | | I have two of the Full Journey Boxes that collect the Star Trek series.
One ist Star Trek: Voyager - The Full Journey the other is Star Trek - Enterprise (Edition: The Full Journey)
Which is correct? | | | "The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself, with desire for what its monstrous laws have made monstrous and unlawful." |

Correct would be Star Trek: Voyager: The Full Journey | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Correct would be Star Trek: Voyager: The Full Journey Thanks, I changed the title and submitted the changes. On a related note: How does one create child profiles for complete series Box-Sets that don't have a EAN? | | | "The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Don't do this too often, but if I recall correctly it's done by using Disc 1 of each season as parent of the season. EDIT: If you don't plan to submit this: A manual profile as parent would be perfect. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

| Posted: | | | | Going by the last statement Ken made on the subject... Disc id profiles should only have info for that disc. And yes, it was about complete series sets. Quoting Ken Cole:Quote: Quoting hal9g:

I do have one question that hopefully you can advise us on.
We have instances where there is a conflict between using the disc ID of the first disc in a single season TV season for the "child profile" just for the first disc in that season, and that same disc ID is needed to profile the entire season when that season is a child of a "Complete Series" of a TV show.
Can you provide some guidance on this please?
My initial thought is that in either case, disc-level profiles should have content only from that disc. How often does this occur? Since we don't have grandchild profiles at the moment, how do you enter them currently. | | | Pete |

Simply attach all the discs directly to the complete set profile. I know of box sets that have 40 discs attached to it (the US versions of Friends and Buffy come to mind). | | | Karsten DVD Collectors Online

| Posted: | | | | DJ Doena is right and, fortunately, Ken seems to support this.
Season 1: Disc 1, Season 1: Disc 2 etc. That way if the discs are in more than one Box Set they are still supported.
For example, "Supernatural: The Complete Seasons 1-4" could contain the same Disc IDs as the individual seasons of Supernatural 1 to 4. | | | Last edited: by GreyHulk |

Simply attach all the discs directly to the complete set profile. I know of box sets that have 40 discs attached to it (the US versions of Friends and Buffy come to mind). But the german box sets of Angel, Buffy and The Sopranos for example all have childprofiles for the individual seasons. And I'd rather have the full seasons as child profiles than every single disc because of the profile counts for the actors. | | | "The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. | Posted: | | | | IMHO profiles per disc gives a closer actual count. Each cast member is credited per episode... so I personally wish that profiler would count them per episode instead of per disc or per set.
You can of course put the season sets into the box set content for yourself... but any changes you make would have to be local only. Each UPC or disc id profile must be for the original release in the main online database. | | | Pete |

As is now there is no good way to do so. Though I do see each episode as a separate credit. Quote:

There is no way to do seasons without EANs in the main online database... see the quote I posted from Ken Cole. Each disc ID profile only gets info from that disc alone... not the entire season. Since for the online you need either a UPC/EAN or a Disc ID... you can't do a complete season profile in the main online database. It has to be a local only solution. To do this I see 2 options... 1. Using the already created season sets 2. Create a season set manually Using the already created season sets seem to be the less work. Just download the season sets... change what is different (cover art, overview... etc.) and lock it locally. Seems the easier solution. | | | Pete |
