I am hoping that someone here may have a solution for me....

I just received a 2-disc collection of Lombard and Powell Comedy.  There are 2 movies on each disc for a total of 4 films in the set.

This set is not in the Invelos DB.

However, the individual movies are in the DB.  I know how to add a movie into my collection and then change the UPC code to the Disc ID for the first movie.

Now, is there a way to add the second movie into my collection and then capture the cast and crew from the individual DVD and then ADD it to the disc that I have created for the first movie?

Of course, I would put a divider in the Cast and Crew with the name of the second movie.

I know you can copy the entire cast of the second movie and then close the DVD profile, and open the first DVD profile, then paste the entire cast from the second onto the profile of the first... but instead of adding it to the existing cast... it REPLACES the entire cast.

There must be some way to merge the info from two profiles onto one for these situations...isn't there?

Thank you.

There is, through a plugin.

It's called Freestyle Cast/Crew Edit

Pretty easy to use, just make sure you use the append function to add the 2nd movie so it doesn't overwrite the first one.  You have to do the cast & crew separately, but still takes a matter of seconds.

The easier way:

1) Open the source profile by double-clicking on it
2) Right-Click onto the Cast-listing and choose "Copy all Cast"
3) Close the source profile
4) Open the target profile
5) Right-Click onto the Cast-listing and choose "Paste and Append Cast"

Repeat this steps for Crew.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Sure, do it the easy way!

I didn't know about that... good to know!

OK,

not necessarily "easier", but the one that doesn't need a PlugIn to be installed.

Nah, you had it right as it is easier.  It's still a good plugin though!

Thanks guys!  That is awesome!!!!  Love it!  I used the paste and append method.  It took less than 5 seconds!

I'll check out that plugin later.

Peace.

P.S.  Of course, I do feel like an idiot though!

The Cast was super easy.

The Crew took a little figuring out.  You have to move each one down to its appropriate movie and it takes a couple of minutes, but still a hundred times easier and faster than manually entering the data.

Thanks again!

What about if you add an episode divider after first set of Crew before you paste a second Crew?

For the future: this workaround for "Paste and Append Crew"-problem might be a good read.
