Currently running the latest version of DVD Profiler. If there is no existing backup file or I rename it first then backup works. If there is a file already there with the same name the backup aborts with an error.

I have checked the files and the user has full rights to the folder (it's on the same machine but can be emulated from any client).

Only really noticed it with the current version of DVD Profile, although I cannot be certain.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Running Windows 8 x 64.

In what folder do you store the backup?

This would be the normal behaviour for Win8 if the existing backup-file was created by a different user and/or on a previous Windows version.

To avoid this in the future:
1) Take ownership of the backup-folder to your default user account
2) Rename your existing backup to backup.sav
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Thanks. I deleted and recreated the backup folder. After doing a database repair it seems to be working.

Thanks guys
