I tried to update a profile where a cast name had been incorrectly entered. It was entered as first name and middle name instead of first name and last name. But when I tried to submit it, the contribution page said that no change was detected.
Is there no way to submit such a correction? If not, then that would seem to be a pretty serious bug in the contribution system. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users.

I do believe if something else is changed within the same field (whether cast or crew). But even if you get it changed in the main database... it won't change anyone's local... as parsing is now a local only feature. There seem to be quite a few profiles that have some names entered all in the first name field. Seems strange if this cannot be corrected.

| | Posted: | | | | "Von" vs "von", that's case sensitivity. That's different from moving a name from one field to another.
When you select Preview Changes in the program, such changes that I mentioned are shown. That seems terribly inconsistent, and confusing, if these changes are actually ignored. | | | My freeware tools for DVD Profiler users.

Well, I don't mind that the name parsing nonsense is ignored, but I would rather not see any changes at all.

It is quite possible that I might have more credits for a given character in my data base than the online data base, since I have several thousand profiles I haven't contributed. Do to the haggling over what is right and what is wrong if I have any doubts, I just don't bother.
