I have a problem: occasionally when I select OK to a profile update it doesn't update. I've mentioned this before in the context of having an edit of a profile not save, but now it happens occasionally when I get an update (this has only started since V3.8.1). Now AFAICT there are only 2 of us having the problem, and Ken cannot reproduce it, so I've just been doing the update over in those cases.

Today, I got an update with a much superior set of cover scans. Very happy, I selected to receive the scans update and reject the profile updates (just some studio changes I wanted to make manually after-the-fact). Then I selected OK (this was the only profile "selected"). It seemed happy, but the images weren't updated. OK, I'll just do it again.

Problem. The comparison screen won't show the images. The "Online->Refresh DVD from Invelos->Preview Image Changes" menu is greyed out (as expected since the preview changes screen doesn't show images). When I select the "Online->Refresh DVD from Invelos->Refresh Images Only" it does nothing.

So 1) Does anyone know how to get the image given the above? Have I missed some menu item that does what I want? It's US profile 043396052857 "Whatever It Takes" (don't ask, just ... don't )

2) Am I the only one with this odd behaviour of Image menus? I would expect the "Refresh Images Only" to do something (or say why it doesn't do something if that is by design), or if it is using the same logic as "Preview Image Changes", then it should likewise be greyed out.

But I'm curious why we can't preview image changes all the time, as we can for profile changes. It seems that if I download a profile, then manually edit the cover, I cannot preview to see the difference between my cover and the online. I would quite like to do that, actually.

Again, this could just mean that my machine/installation is messed up, but while the occasionally non-functioning save is intermittent, the menu items have been that way since (i think) the very first version 2 that I can recall (effectively forever )

ok, I realized that i could grab the new image by creating a new database with just this title and copying the jpg files manually, then rebuilding those thumbnail.  Quite a bit of work ...

Just throwing out a random thought here but it couldn't be some parental setting that prevents some images from refreshing? Unrated, NC-17 what have you.

Most likely: You Profiler 'thinks' he has the newest profile and images, so he doesn't give you those 'unneeded' functions.

Again, just a guess, but most likely a remnant of the olden days when every image loaded unnecessary was time and money wasted.

Next time this creeps up: flag the profile in question and go Collection -> Flagged -> Refresh and choose Refresh Images, that should force a refresh of those images.

This seems to be the same problem I tried to describe in this thread ... my problem still remains.

When DVD Profiler recognized the image update I could view the new images in the preview. But after say ok, it skips the download of the new image and the old one stays local.
The only way to get the image, is to open the profile, delete front and back cover and leave the profile with ok. Now you can start the update for this profile again with Online > Refresh DVD from Invelos > Refresh Images Only

Excellent suggestion. Sadly, this does not work - it thinks for a little, and the images flash, but it hasn't replaced them.

Thanks

Yes, it does seem to be the same thing ... I should have remembered that.

As you note, your technique does work. It would be nice if it allowed you to specify which image to download, but all-in-all changing that would be working around a problem, so I guess I'd prefer to have the bug fixed

In conjunction with the Profile-Save-Might-Not bug it almost makes me want to stop updating profiles.

Interesting. I have the same problem.

I have been waiting for some Karate Kid covers to be approved - which they now have been - and they appeared on the 'Refresh Updated Profiles' list. I accepted them, but they haven't downloaded.

I even requested to refresh the images (or indeed the whole profile) and it just does nothing.

A database repair doesn't help either.

The program is refusing to download any images as far as I can tell as my 'new additions' DVD images are unchanged even though they've been approved.

The program seems to be unable to tell if there's a different image online unless the fields are blank.

Although, I've noticed that the Doctor Who: The Greatest Show in the Galaxy' images (approved 3rd August) have downloaded fine, but not much since. Odd.
