I updated yesterday from 3.6 to 3.8 and now all the numbers from my "Ordered"-List, where i have my BD's listed, are gone.
Usually i sort them by the numbers, so that the last one added is up. Is there any way to get those numbers back?
It would be some work to renumber 700+ BD's "by hand" .

Thanks a lot in advance.

First of all, is the "Coll #" column missing or just the numbers? If the column disappeared, with the window (category) displayed where the numbers are missing, right-click anywhere in that window (like on a title,) go to View Columns, and make sure "Collection Number" is selected.

If that is fine, try a database repair. Go to Tools -> Options -> Utilities -> Repair Profile Database

If that doesn't work, come back and we will try something else

Hi Blair,

thank you for your reply. The column is there, but the numbers are gone. I already tried a repair, but it didn't solve the problem. If you have any further ideas, how to get them back, i'd be really grateful  .

Hm, just realized, that if i do a double-click on a title in the ordered list and go to "personal", there is no field anymore for the numbers - strange, isn't it?

I never recalled there ever being a collection number entry available in the Ordered category (or the Wishlist category) since they aren't yet a part of your collection. Then again, I always kept that field hidden everywhere except for in the Owned category anyway, so i was never paying attention. I just just following the typical steps I would have taken had it been in the Owned category.

I believe Ken (owner/programmer) made a change between version 3.7 and 3.8 related to collection numbers when you create a custom category and link it to your Owned category (whether or not you know how to do this is not important.) Maybe he removed the collection number parameters from Ordered for a related reason

Does anyone else remember this detail?

Assuming you were using the collection numbers for the purpose of keeping track of which you purchased first to last, you can always sort by Purchase Date assuming you added one when you added the DVD to the Ordered category.

Unfortunately, i did not change the purchase date for the first...uhm....like 100 Discs, so that its not possible to have them in the right order  .
I remember that, everytime i added a new Disc, i had to give it a number by myself.
Would be interesting, if there's really a change wanted by the programmers....

Collection numbers don't apply to the ordered list. No change was made to this behavior in recent releases.

I've found in the past if I order a title then put it into own assign it a number and then put it back into ordered it 'remembers ' the number for the future when you finally put into owned the number is there again but in ordered ,under personalized,  there is only location and slot..

I'm sure there is a change, because as i said, whenever i added a new disc to the owned column, i had to personalize it to have the possibility to give it a number.
I do have the old version of the profiler on another computer, when i have the chance i'll try to make some snapshots. Maybe this would help as i dont know how to describe it another way  .

I think there is some confusion since you said originally the 'ordered' list had lost their numbers, and now you are talking about the 'owned' list.

I did wonder how you could have so many in the 'ordered' list!!

Do you have a up-to-date profiler database there too?
If yes, set up Collection Categories and move the BD's there. Afterwards backup the database, move it to your 3.8-machine and restore it there.

Sure, i meant the ordered-list, as i use the owned column for my owned DVD's and the ordered-column for my (owned) BD's - sorry for the confusion .

@Mithi: No, the Profiler on the other Computer is not up-to-date - unfortunately...*sigh*.

why not setup a 'blu ray' tab and move them all there - that supports having collection numbers etc. (its what I have done).

you may then find that all the collection numbers re-appear (as if by magic)

PAUL! You made my day . I did a new column, moved some movies there and *Kazoom!* - the numbers are back  .

Another question is now: Is there an option where i can move all of them from the ordered list to the new blu ray column with a few clicks? Its quite exhausting to put each single one from the one column to the other .

Ah ok, should be like "DVD" - "push to" - "Blu-Ray" - right?

The single moves to the new column worked for the first 13-14 discs - but if i put them now to the blu ray column, numbers count from the status of my owned list...so whenever i put another disc now to blu ray column, it starts counting from 891.....strange...

Flag them all (Ctrl & a) and then Collection -> Flagged -> Move to
