Must be movie ratings enforcement was lax back then, too. A couple of weeks ago I was in line at the theater behind two young kids who couldn't have been older than 12-13, and the employee at the box office sold them tickets to the R-rated "Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter," no questions asked. |

My dad bought us tickets as we had an older freind in that really wanted to see it, and I convinced my Dad that I'd be ok with it. I used to be a Head Usher, Asst. Manager, and finally Manager of local theaters in the 70's & 80's. I was known as a Son of a Female Dog to those under 16, (plus the employees and their friends) as I made sure the ratings were adhered strictly. I was only 16 myself and lost a few friends back then. Today I see the way the Ushers, and Box offices are run and can only shake my head. These days I wonder why they even call them ushers. In those days we were there to help the customers, keep smokers from lighting up, asked people to stop talking out loud during the film, and even asked those folks with crying babies to take them to the back of the theater or outside. Maybe I am an old fogy. But I was proud of my actions to help theater goers enjoy their movie experience. Yep I am lost in my past. Bobb | | | | Do Cheshire Cats drink evaporated milk? |
