I would like to be able to execute my .txt files for things like setting the genre or loading a layout from a .bat file without having to restart the program.  Can this be done with a hidden executable parameter or something?

thanks.

You mean Command Files? Those are executable by File -> Run Command File...
And if you want it even more comfortable, use MyTools which lets you create your own icon bars. E.g.:

1) loads a filter that shows all unseen discs
2) loads the standard-layout
3) my Showroom-Layout
4) does a XML-Export
5) unflags all profiles ... so I don't have to remember the keystrokes  8)

i understand that but that's not what i'm looking for.  I would like to be able to run these files without directly hitting anything from within dvdp.  Like the startup parameter method but without trying to start the program when it's already running.  Ultimately i would like to create a .bat file that would run my .txt files, i would think there would be a parameter to use in conjuction with the dvdpro.exe that would allow me to do this.

I don't believe that what you're asking is possible. Although I don't understand why you cannot run them from DVDP interface. Do you want to create some scheduled tasks or something like that?

Long story short, i am controlling the program with an iphone and ipad using a secondary application in conjuction with many other pieces of hardware and software.  Currently the only way i can communicate with dvdp via these devices is using auto hot key.  Currently i have it setup to execute a control click on screen which selects the run command file... button but things would be more reliable if i could do away with this method and simply execute a command like in a batch file that would execute everything.  Jriver media is an example of a program which allows you to do this as they allow you to communicate with the program outside of it and do just about anything with custom parameters attached to the main executable file.  DVDP does have parameters you can use attached to the dvdpro.exe but only during startup.
