I tried to search in the forums but couldn't find anyone else facing this problem.
I enabled database sharing for both view and edit.
In my second computer, I am able to open the shared database properly but am unable to edit.  The right-click Edit option is disabled (and DVD Edit menu also).  I see my entire collection fine.

While opening the shared database, the Test option shows that it is enabled for both view and changes.
Can someone help please?  I am using the latest 3.8.1 version.

Thank you.

Full access is sadly not yet possible with the implemented sharing tool.

For getting full access from the client you'd have to allow remote access to the folder containing the database and point DVDProfiler to this database.
This is working quite fine with only one limitation: The database can only be accessed by one at a time, if another client is trying to access the database it will receive an error message.
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Thank you for the quick reply.
I will give that a try.  I am fine with the one user at a time limitation.
Just out of curiosity, then why is there an option for both view and "change"?  Is it just for personal information (cos that option was enabled in a shared database).

Thank you again.

Exactly.
When set to "View" not even personal info can be changed.
