Not sure if this has been previously reported, but I've seen this in other 3.8 builds as well.

When reviewing profile updates, if I look at the image changes first, and decide to lock the image, and then view the profile data update, the image lock becomes undone.

I view the changes the same way. The reason is, I believe, you turned off the annoying warning about, do you want to override the locks. If you had not, it would have warned you about overriding the locks again when you viewed the profile data. You could probably just recheck the image box again, an extra step, but would work or just check the data first and then the images.

I agree that once you told the program to override the locks for images, it should hold until accomplished. My 2 pennies for what it's worth.

Can I reset that warning to test if that is, indeed, the case?

I don't know if this will actually do the trick, but the closest possible solution that I can come up with is:

Tools -> Options -> Utilities -> Reset All Menus
If at first you don't succeed, skydiving isn't for you.

To reset that warning, hold CTRL while clicking the Accept checkbox.

Yeah, this doesn't seem to address the core problem, which is that if I lock the image in the image comparison window first, and then view the profile comparison, it removes the lock on the cover images whenever I accept any of the profile changes.  This means I always have to view the profile changes first, to avoid having my locks undone.

I think I've found the problem.  The lock button in the image comparison window doesn't update the "cover images" lock in the Edit Locks tool.
