Just saw a trailer for that show on Norwegian television, and off of that trailer, it looked like a comedy version of Alias. Anyone seen this show, and is it Alias look a like?

I watched the whole first season (the second season is already over).

But I wasn't too fond of the show. I wanted to like it because I liked the actress from Coyote Ugly.

But in the end it was just mediocre for my taste.

It's not like Alias. Alias had the advantage of having Bristow being a double agent and thus something to play off the other characters.

On Covert Affairs she's just a regular agent and her family (her sister is played by House's Cutthroat Bitch) hasn't that much screen time.

That being said, I'm normally rather fond of USA Network shows: White Collar, Suits, Burn Notice & Common Law which all have a special recipe to their standard plots (WC: con artist works for the FBI; Suits: not-really-a-lawyer works as a lawyer; BN: former spy works as P.I., CL: two male cops have to go to couple's counseling).

If CA has such a twist, I've forgotten it.

I never watched Alias, but I do watch Covert Affairs and can tell you it is not a comedy.  It is a drama centering on a female CIA agent.  Season 3 is about to start, here in the states, and I am looking forward to it as I really liked seasons 1 and 2.

Wasn't the premise of Covert Affairs how she became involved with the CIA and that she had been hiding it from her sister? My memory ain't what it used to be!

Yea, that was the first season.  Those issues were resolved and caused new issues.
