I'm doing a bunch of "Copy Online Links" followed by "Edit MyLinks->Paste". It is annoying that those menu picks involve considerable mouse-motion, so I thought to add them to the Context Menu of the Collection list. Put them in no trouble. Sadly, it doesn't work for me.

When I "Copy Online Links" from the context menu, then "Edit MyLinks", it is not possible to click Paste.

A little investigation shows that the XML injected into the clipboard from the top "Online->Online Profile Links->Copy Online Links" menu is different from the XML injected into the clipboard from "Copy Online Links" in the *context* menu (specifically, the XML generated from the context menu is not processed from the format returned by the server).

TL;DR - "Copy Online Links" doesn't seem work in a context menu

Yes, that function relies on the online links being downloaded, which is done when Online->Online Profile Links is selected.  Suggestion is to place that menu on the context menu or toolbar.

Not sure exactly what you are doing Fred, but I added a bunch of additional My Links menus as part of LoadDVD. If they prove helpful, maybe some of them will get picked up in 3.8.1.

Online>My Links>Flag MyLinks  - Flags profiles that have My Links entries
Online>My Lnks>Clear Flagged - deletes the My Links entries from the flagged profiles
Online>Online Profile Links>Flag Missing Online Links - flags profiles with no links on Profile Links Page

Tools>Link Tools>Import My Links - the CSV file format is described following
Tools>Link Tools>Export Flagged My Links - this will create a CSV file suitable for edit/import
Tools>Link Tools>Export Flagged Online Links - this will create a CSV file of links from Profile Links Page

For example, it is very quick to export a bunch of Profile Links and reimport them as My Links. Matter of minutes.

I liked this so much that I went back in time and added similar functionality to 3.8.0.    Under filters, Personal, 'My Links', click the 'Contain' or 'Don't contain' options and leave the entry blank.  It will filter to profiles with/without My Links.  Flagging of course is an extra Ctrl+A.

Thanks. It doesn't hurt to have more than one way to "skin a cat" (running to hide from LOL Cats crew ...)  .

And what do you think my plugin uses internally - you guessed it - your filter!

Am i missing something.  If i follow what is being said i can filter to profiles that do or do not have links?

I tried the above and filtered to "Contain" and left the entry blank.  Filtered in my Owned category was zero profiles, many of which i know don't have links.  The only profile i have that was found was The Hunger Games, which definitely has links.

Did i miss a step?

How was the and / or button set? And I think there is a separate button for Not Contain (I'm not at the PC right now).

Tried both And and Or with no impact.

Selecting Not Contain just inverted the Contain filter and showed every profile.  No correlation to which profiles had links online or not.

Hang on - the filter is for My Links, not Online Profile Links.

Are we on the same page?

The latest version of LoadDVD has an Online Profile Links scan, if that is what you are really looking for.

Maybe not.  I assumed My Links and the Online Links were the same data from two different points of view.  I haven't looked at the LoadDVD plugin before, i'll have to take a look at that.

Thanks.

No worries. I struggled a bit with the two concepts. But I think it boils down to: Online Profile Links are contributable and shared, My Links are local. I think that's kind of the deal. The only way to get a list of the Online links is either to walk down the collection, doing "Copy Online", or load the Profile Links Page and look at them, one by one. The latter is what LoadDVD does, programmatically. Since it is not (yet) possible for plugins to read the local copy of the Online profiles, we will have to wait for Invelos to get the equivalent function in a faster format.

I have more "My Links" types of support in the works. After I see what DVDP 3.8.1 looks like, I will probably package up any remaining functions into a separate plugin, including what I have put temporarily into LoadDVD The more stuff Ken decides to do ... the less work for me!
