Help- please - my system won'tscan any covers - it starts scanning, but then a window pops up telling me there is not enough RAM left - I have 4GB under Windows XP - is that not enough? Thank you! Jan

What happens when you scan with the tool that came with your scanner?
It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up!
But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Try a quick test scan at a lower resolution (i.e. smaller image), and see if that works.

I too still use XP with 4Gb of RAM, and have no problems at any resolution.

I have no idea why it doesn't work for you as I have half the RAM you have and I've no problem.

Hiya all! Jimmy S: thanks for telling me that you had no problem with 2 GB RAM - that helped... I tried to scan with the scanner tool the scanner came with, thanks for reminding me, Lewis_Prothero! It did not work properly, so I reinstalled the scanner software and tried again with reduced resolution (thank you analogueman). Now it's working!

Thanks a lot!

some time a quick reboot/restart  fixes the problem..
