Since I haven't used BD live so much, I thought I would post this question here. When Blu-ray was new there were said that with BD-Live there is so many possibilities and so on and so forth. So my short question is, remembered that subtitles was mentioned on BD-live, is there now possible to download subtitles to a movie through BD-Live? I vagely remember that was mentioned...

I'm sure that downloaded subtitles would be technically possible, I just have never seen a single BD-Live Blu-ray disc that would offer you that option.

What you can do when watching a BD-Live (or BD-J) Blu-ray disc, is totally controlled by what capabilities and options have been built into the Java program included on (and controlling the playing of) the disc.

If the studio hasn't included subtitles in the language of your preference, it certainly would be great to be able to use an external subtitle stream.  I just don't see how that could be possible if support for external subtitles isn't present on the disc.

Ripping the contents of the disc into a suitable file/container and then using external subtitles is another story...

That would actually be a pretty useful feature of BD Live.

Unfortunately, 95%+ of BD Live is pretty much nothing but ads. On top of that, it's often slow and buggy, which pretty much makes it useless.
