| Posted: | | | | I am updating Akira UPC 013023156890 and would like some input on a few questions I have regarding how do the credits.
The credits are listed as follows:
Japanese data is listed first. At the end of the credits is the usual copyright notice which is dated 1998. The Crew credits are easy - I just did them the way I usually do.
But, there is then a long gap and then a notice appears that a digitally remastered English version dated 2001 which was produced by Pioneer Entertainment. Another list of credits starts after this notification.
Should Pioneer receive a Studio credit? There are only 2 Japanese Studios so there is room to include this data.
Or, should this be treated the way we do Criterion releases and list Pioneer Entertainment as the MC?
Another issue I have is how Crew data should be credited. Should the English Version data be separated from the Japanese data? This could be done using dividers to differentiate them.
The Cast data is currently listed that way - a group divider for Japanese Cast followed by a group divider for English Cast.
Edit: I just finished the Credits and at the very end it does say "Distributed by Pioneer Entertainment". | | | Last edited: by Kathy |

| Posted: | | | | Personally, I never even put English crew/cast in my submissions for Japanese movies/series/anime But, if I would, I'd go about it as follows: Crew: Japanese crew (seriously, the US crew only does minor adaptation work or remixing) Cast: Japanese cast -- divider -- English cast Also, If you want a complete and correct Japanese cast listing, I'm expecting my Akira Blu-ray from Amazon next week. I think the weekend after that I can make a complete romanization of the Japanese credits (provided they are included on the disc). Let me know if you're interested as 'subtitled' credits tend to leave our people and/or print mistakes | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

| Posted: | | | | Shouldn't we use a divider saying "English crew: Pioneer Entertainment" or something like that, and the rest of crew under it? That's how the Star Wars dvds are for the "Special Edition" extra credits, this sounds like a similar situation. Same with The Abyss, "Special Edition Restoration" with lots of new sound guys plus a producer, editor and VFX guy. |

| Posted: | | | | I have no idea which way is best, and there isn't that many Crew, but I've done it locally the way bigdaddyhorse has suggested except my divider is missing the words "Pioneer Entertainment"
Taro, I would love if you would share your data with the community. The data I have is incomplete - no roles etc. so I would definitely appreciate a more complete profile. |
